341 Meeting of Creditors
After you file for Chapter 13 Bankruptcy, you will be required to attend a meeting over which the Chapter 13 Trustee presides. This meeting is called the Section 341 Meeting. The U.S. Bankruptcy Court will set a date for your Section 341 Meeting. At this meeting, the Trustee will ask questions of you under oath regarding the content of your bankruptcy plan, schedules, assets, debts and other matters. After the Trustee is done, your creditors will have an opportunity to ask you questions regarding the location and condition of your property, hazard insurance coverage and matters related to your financial affairs.
At the Section 341 meeting you are required to provide:
- Original Proof of Identification
- Original Proof of FULL Social Security Number
Photocopies will NOT be accepted.
In the event of snow or other emergencies that may cause the U.S. Bankruptcy Court to close or to have a late opening, please check the U.S. Bankruptcy Court’s website at www.wawb.uscourts.gov. Scheduled 341 meetings with the Trustee during a time in which the U.S. Bankruptcy Court is closed will not be held and you will receive notice of a continued date and time. Please note if the U.S. Bankruptcy Court has a late opening, all meetings scheduled at the time and after the U.S. Bankruptcy Court has opened will be held and you will be required to appear.
